A heavy-duty transfer car from Vollert moves the trailers and wagons, with weights of up to 25 t, from there to the robot blast cabin 2 The exit from the dryer takes to a second heavy-duty transfer car to distribute the trailers and wagons on two parallel assembly lines for the attachment of the wheel sets 3 At the end of each conveyor section, the rope conveyor transfers the workpiece to the next one RANDON, BRAZIL Randon, the largest manufacturer of truck trai- lers and freight cars in Latin America, has built a 500 m long combined welding, painting and assembly line in the state of São Paolo. For the individually timed infeed, Vollert developed a heavy-duty material flow concept consisting of 13 combined rope conveyor drives and two dis- tribution transfer cars. Different wagon and trailer lengths between 9 and 22 m are possible. In a continuous line, short cycle times and a capacity of up to 18 wagons per work shift are possible. And thanks to individually combined rope conveyors, different throughput times are possible at the individual work stations. At full capacity, wagons and trailers can be completed every half hour.
