17 16 NEUMAN ALUMINIUM, AUSTRIA A Vollert automatic crane system featuring 21 change cycles is the new hub of the extrusion production process at Neuman Aluminium’s aluminium plant. The new traveling crane moves skips weighing 3 t that contain aluminium profiles, weighs them, puts them in interim sto- rage and sends them for post-treatment heating, during which it precisely stacks up to 5 skips one on top of the other. Advance centering per- mits precise stacking. Material moves along the 60-m long crane track at 4 m/s.
