23 22 ZHONGWANG GROUP, CHINA For secure transport of sensitive ingots and aluminium coils throughout the material flow process, from melting to loading, Zhongwang Group has chosen a fully automated Vollert intralogistics system for its new mega aluminium plant in Tianjin. 16 automatic cranes operating on 500 m lengths of craneway and with spans of up to 31.5 m serve several floor-based storage areas and connect the stress-relieving furnaces with the processing and finishing at speeds of up to 4 m/s. Laser-controlled bi-directional measuring systems monitor and control transport. 1 Positioning accuracy of the automatic crane is ±3 mm in spite of the large flat storage area.
