KG LIEBHERR-WERK EHINGEN, GERMANY At the Liebherr factory in Ehingen, a painting plant with friction wheel and rope conveyor technology is the heart for the coating of crane ballast elements. They are used as counter- weights in mobile lattice mast and telescopic cranes that have lifting heights of up to 245 m. Depending on the product carrier, ballast ele- ments up to a weight of 20 t can be coated overhead. A loading crane supplies ballast, while an unloading crane of the same type places the finished workpieces back into a longitudinal direction every 30 minutes after coating.
