23 NEUMAN ALUMINIUM, AUSTRIA A Vollert automatic crane system featuring 21 change cycles is the new hub of the extrusion production process at Neuman Aluminium’s aluminium plant. The new transport crane moves skips weighing 3 t that contain alumini- um profiles, weighs them, puts them in interim storage and sends them for post-treatment heating. There, it precisely stacks up to 5 skips one on top of the other. Advance centering permits precise stacking. Material moves along the 60-m long craneway at 4 m/s.
